OPINEL - No.08 Cosmos Benjamin Jeanjean

Artist Benjamin Jeanjean has showcased his vision of the cosmos on the handle of the traditional N°08 pocket knife.

The No.08 Cosmos by Benjamin Jeanjean is a symbolic exploration of the cosmos: a solar face representing universal balance, the phases of the moon recalling the eternal cycle of time, a cosmic canvas represented by geometric motifs... The artist played on a duality combining tradition and modernity.

The pocket knife features a PEFC wood handle featuring a design applied using the sublimation texhniqueand an 8.5 cm stainless steel blade with black PVD treatment. It comes with a box that features the motifs found on the knife itself, as well as a postcard.

Benjamin Jeanjean is a French artist based in the Basque Country. As an illustrator, visual artist and tattoo artist, he combines black humour, nonsense and symbolism in a figurative style that is rich in detail.

Handle

PEFC-certified hornbeam comes from eco-managed farms in the Jura and Vercors regions. This white wood with few veins is ideal for applying color. The handle is varnished to be protected against moisture and dirt.

Matt black blade

This black blade is matt and more resistant to rust than a classic stainless steel blade. This blade is more sensitive to the risk of scratching, be careful not to use abrasive products or sponges when you clean it.

Matt black locking ring

Virobloc made in stainless steel with a specific black treatment which improves the protection against the corrosion. This treatment is scratch-sensitive, be careful not to use abrasive products or abrasive sponges when cleaning.
