• STIHL Quickstop® chain brake - STIHL saws are equipped with a chain stopping system designed to reduce the risk of injury in certain kickback situations. It is called the STIHL Quickstop® chain brake. The STIHL Quickstop® chain brake is designed to stop the chain rotation if it is activated by the operator's hand or by inertia if the saw is pushed back with sufficient force. In some working positions, the STIHL Quickstop® chain brake can be activated by inertia, stopping the chain in a fraction of a second.
• Ematic™ Oiling System - The Ematic™ cutting blade, when used with a STIHL OILOMATIC® chain, provides proper lubrication and uses less oil than conventional methods. The system works because two strategically placed ramps on the cutting blade help maintain the oil flow and direct oil to the guide bar and chain, as well as to the chain’s attachment points, which in turn reduces oil consumption by up to 50%.
• IntelliCarb™ Compensating Carburetor - The IntelliCarb™ compensating carburetor is designed to automatically adjust the air/fuel ratio when the air filter becomes restricted or partially blocked, maintaining the correct engine RPM. IntelliCarb™ uses air from the clean side of the air filter to control the diaphragm and fuel flow. When the air filter becomes dirty and less air is available to the carburetor, the IntelliCarb™ system adjusts the fuel flow to compensate for the reduced air flow. This is different from typical carburetors that use this air from the “dirty” side of the airbox.
• Anti-Vibration System - STIHL has developed a system to reduce the vibration level of handheld outdoor power tools. The STIHL Anti-Vibration System helps reduce operator fatigue and provides a more comfortable working experience.
• Master Control Lever™ - The Master Control Lever™ is an easy-to-use control lever that operates the choke, start throttle lockout, and on-off switch. The operator must pull up on the throttle trigger before moving the lever to the choke position.
• Lightweight Portability - This product is lightweight for easy movement, great maneuverability, and long-lasting use.
• See-through fuel tank - The semi-transparent tank allows operators to easily check fuel levels.
• Tool-free fuel and oil caps with retainers - simply lift the lever and twist the caps to remove or tighten. No need to use a tool to tighten or loosen.
• Easy-access air filter cover - Thanks to easy access, removing the cover is almost effortless for quick filter cleaning or replacement.
• Spark arrestor muffler - Large baffles reduce noise levels and include a mesh designed to reduce sparks.
• Throttle lockout - This safety feature must be pressed before the lock is activated.
• Side chain tensioner - The side chain tensioner makes it much more convenient for the user to adjust the saw chain with just a wrench.
